Aaf Predictions

There were some ominous reports this week that the Alliance of American Football might be on its last legs, as the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) isn’t keen on the AAF being a developmental league for the NFL. If the NFL isn’t willing to help out the AAF, it sounds like spring football might end up being a one-year deal, and perhaps it will be a cautionary tale for the XFL, currently slated to start up in 2020.

For me personally, I’ll be saddened, as the AAF has provided at least one really good and entertaining football game, sometimes several, in each weekend. Truth be told, though, with MLB starting up, March Madness, NBA and NHL heading to the playoffs, it might not be missed that much.

Pro football returns this weekend, as the Alliance of American Football officially kicks off its inaugural season. Still, it’s awfully fun to be able to bet on football in the spring, and you can make a lot of money on these games.

These teams will square off in the Saturday evening game from Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. It’s a rematch of their very entertaining and well played game back on March 9, which the Fleet took by a 27-25 score. The Stallions of SLC has dropped three of their past four games, with only a victory against lowly Memphis to show for their efforts. Meanwhile, QB Mike Bercovici and WR Nelson Spruce have been one of the more exciting pass-catch duos in the AAF.

You can expect to see Spruce in a camp somewhere this fall. San Diego was slapped back last week by a 32-15 count against Arizona, but 24.8 PPG over the past six outings after managing just six points in their opener. This is a good offense with some impressive playmakers on defense. Roll with the Fleet on Saturday evening.

These teams will square off Sunday evening in a rematch of their Week 5 battle back on March 10 in the desert.

The Commanders came away with the 29-25 road victory in that one, winning outright as underdogs in one of only three AAF games this season to feature both teams scoring at least 25 points in the same game.

The Commanders have risen to contender status in the West, but they haven’t been terribly consistent on defense. Yes, they have allowed 11 or fewer points on three occasions, but they have also been trampled for 25 or more points on three other weekends. Former Wake Forest QB John Wolford has looked good at times, and WR Rashad Ross has rolled up 505 receiving yards to lead the team. RB Jhurell Pressley gives them a balanced attack, too. They’ll score plenty against the Commanders.

Betting on the Apollos to win the AAF championship is likely the right call now (I made them my pick last week), but bettors will always want to seek value and upside.

I’m not sure you’re guaranteed to get either with Orlando, which offered a +175 price to win the title last week and should only see those AAF title odds dip further.

That doesn’t mean you can’t lay money on the Apollos; it’s just that stretching your neck to see what other teams are worthy of your cash could also be viable.

I’ve been on the Orlando Apollos the past two weeks, and their price has only dropped from +175 to +125. That won’t get me off of them, but if you’re looking for a little more betting value, check out the latest odds at Sportsbetting.ag:

While the Apollos remain my favorite pick to win the AAF championship, their rise to the top does open up some value behind them.

Aaf Football Predictions

Of the other options, my favorite value pick is Arizona. They’ve been tripped up a bit lately, but they still have terrific coaching and some of the best offensive talent. Scoring a big win thisweek would get them to 3-2 and very much headed in the right direction.
